Samples are most useful when every reviewer understands what is being approved. A candy sample may represent flavor and texture, while the final shape, color or printed packaging is still being developed. Recording the status of each element prevents assumptions later.
Define the purpose of each sample
Identify whether the sample is for product selection, recipe direction, color matching, packaging structure or final pre-production approval. If several variables are being compared, label every version and collect comments in one place.
Review measurable details
Beyond general taste, check piece weight, dimensions, texture, color, aroma, pack weight and count. For packaging, review materials, dimensions, sealing, artwork position, barcode readability and required copy. Photos are helpful, but written acceptance criteria create a stronger production reference.
Control changes after approval
When a revision is requested, state exactly what must change and what must remain unchanged. The final approved product and packaging references should be confirmed before production scheduling so the commercial team, factory and buyer are aligned.
